Try This:

Golden-Brown Croissants Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 package (1/4 ounce) active dry yeast
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, chilled
  • 2/3 cup cold water
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Directions:

  1. In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, salt, and yeast. Cut the chilled butter into small cubes and incorporate it into the flour mixture using a pastry blender or your fingertips, leaving small lumps of butter.
  2. Gradually add the cold water to the flour mixture, mixing until a rough dough forms. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes, until smooth.
  3. Shape the dough into a rectangle, then wrap it in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  4. Roll the chilled dough into a large rectangle on a floured surface. Fold the rectangle into thirds, like a letter, and roll it out again into a rectangle. Repeat the folding and rolling process two more times, then wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1 hour.
  5. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  6. After chilling, roll the dough out into a large rectangle, then cut into triangles. Roll each triangle from the base to the tip to form croissants.
  7. Place the croissants on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between them. Brush the tops with the beaten egg wash.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the croissants are golden brown and flaky.
  9. Allow the croissants to cool slightly before serving.

Enjoy these golden-brown croissants as a delightful addition to your breakfast or brunch spread. Their buttery, flaky layers and delicate texture make every bite a moment of pure indulgence.
